Surf and Turf

Surf and Turf

“Surf and turf” is a term used in the culinary world to describe a dish that includes both seafood (surf) and meat (turf). The phrase is believed to have originated in the United States, and it reflects the combination of elements from both land and sea. It is often associated with fine dining and upscale restaurants, where it is used to create a luxurious and indulgent dining experience.

Ingredients

2 NYC strip steaks

2 lobster tails

Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Tone’s rosemary, garlic seasoning

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Prepare the steak:

Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper and Tone’s rosemary , garlic seasoning on both sides.

Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the steaks and rub to coat them evenly.

Place the steaks on the grill and cook to your preferred level of doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness of the steaks.

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Prepare the lobster tails:

Using a sharp knife, split the lobster tails in half lengthwise.

Mix together the minced garlic, melted butter, and a pinch of salt.

Brush the lobster tails with the garlic butter mixture.

Place the lobster tails on the grill, shell side down, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the flesh is opaque and cooked through.

Once the steak and lobster tails are cooked, transfer them to a serving platter.

Garnish the surf and turf with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the lobster and steak.

This surf and turf recipe pairs the rich flavors of beef and lobster, and the grilling method adds a delicious smoky flavor to both the steak and the lobster tails. Enjoy!
