Pan-fried Beef Ribs
Pan-fried barbecue ribs are a variation of traditional barbecue ribs that are cooked in a pan on the stovetop rather than being grilled or smoked. It emerged as a convenient and quicker cooking method for preparing ribs indoors when grilling or smoking outdoors was not feasible.
While traditional barbecue ribs are often associated with outdoor cooking and regional barbecue traditions in the United States, pan-fried barbecue ribs offer a more accessible way to enjoy the flavors of barbecue without the need for specialized equipment or outdoor space.
Ingredients
2 lbs beef ribs
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Tone’s rosemary, garlic seasoning
1/2 cup Sweet baby rays barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
Instructions
Season the beef ribs with sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Make sure to rub the seasoning into the meat on all sides.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned beef ribs to the skillet. Sear the ribs for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are browned.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid, and let the ribs cook for about 1 hour. Make sure to check on them occasionally and turn them to ensure even cooking.
After the ribs are cooked through and tender, brush them with barbecue sauce on both sides.
Increase the heat to medium-high and cook the ribs for an additional 2-3 minutes on each side, allowing the barbecue sauce to caramelize and create a sticky glaze.
Once the ribs are nicely glazed and heated through, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the pan-fried beef barbecue ribs hot with your favorite sides.
Enjoy!
