Grilled Flounder Sandwich
This recipe has all the makings for your new favorite classic fish sandwich: Grilled white flounder filets enveloped in two thick slices of ciabatta bread, piled high with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
4 flounder fillets
4 ciabatta buns
Tone’s rosemary, garlic seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Cheddar cheese
Tartar sauce
4 lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices
Pickles or cucumber slices (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Place the flounder filets in a shallow dish and sprinkle Tone’s rosemary, garlic seasoning and salt and pepper. Make sure the filets are evenly coated.
4. Prepare the sandwich rolls by spreading tartar on the bottom halves.
Once the grill is hot, lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. Place the flounder fillets on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove the grilled flounder from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Meanwhile, lightly toast the sandwich rolls on the grill.
To assemble the sandwiches, place a grilled flounder filet on each roll. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles or cucumber, if desired.
Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the rolls. Serve immediately.
