Bulgogi
Bulgogi is a delicious Korean dish made from marinated, thinly sliced beef that’s grilled or stir-fried. It’s often served with rice.
Ingredients
1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as rib-eye or sirloin)
½ cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 tablespoons mirin or rice wine
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
Cooked white rice
Fried eggs (1 per serving)
Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, mirin, sesame seeds, and green onions to make the marinade.
Add the sliced beef to the marinade, making sure it’s well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil.
Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is cooked through and caramelized on the edges, about 5-7 minutes.
While the beef is cooking, prepare the fried eggs in a separate pan.
To serve, place a portion of cooked rice on each plate, top with a generous portion of the bulgogi, and add a fried egg on top.
Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Enjoy!
